Alongside the eBoost3 we have continued to innovate our class leading range of CO2 (or compressed gas) external wastegates with an innovative control on cap technology that places the ‘spill and fill’ control solenoids required for CO2 boost control directly into the wastegate cap itself.
The incredibly popular StraightGate family of external wastegates have also had some new applications added to their list, the first new application comes in the form of a dedicated CO2 (compressed gas) actuator featuring a reinforced diaphragm and the new control in cap technology. In addition to the CO2 StraightGate (and BoostGate) we are also previewing a new range of electric Modular StraightGates for use specifically with OEM electronic wastegate control motors.
If that’s not enough to get you excited – How about a range of billet oil caps for popular high performance engines, these aren’t just any oil caps though – sure they look great, but being Turbosmart we can’t help but innovate – it’s just in our DNA, so we’ve taken the humble oil cap and made it do more. With a removable centrecap your oil fill cap can now be used as a sensor port for measuring crankcase pressure, as a breather port or an oil return – the choice is yours.

The eBoost3 is the next generation in boost controllers. With a full colour LCD, rotating click bezel for on the fly adjustments and virtually limitless boost control options, the eBoost3 is resetting the standard for stand alone boost controllers. Capable of running single solenoid, twin solenoid, CO2 or electronic wastegates*, the eBoost3 gives the user full control to monitor, map and compensate boost in any application. More than that, the eBoost3 can control water spray, methanol, nitrous injection, shift lights, warning lights as well as monitor critical engine data like RPM, air fuel ratio and engine oil pressure.
The eBoost3 picks up where the famous eBoost2 left off with up to six stages of boost by gear, boost by rpm, boost by time, boost by ethanol content, and much more. A 60 psi onboard boost pressure sensor is standard, higher boost applications can use any market leading pressure sensor directly with the eBoost3 also. All this in a self-contained billet aluminium gauge pod, with customisable over-boost shutdown’s and peak value storage to keep your engine safe from harm.
While the eBoost3 packs a lot of technology into small package, the user interface has been designed to be easy and logical. The eBoost3 is designed to be a complete Boost Management System with market-leading features and a state-of-the-art intuitive user interface, eBoost3 is the one accessory all owners of turbocharged cars should have! The Compressed Gas StraightGate50 (solenoid) is the first ever boost control integrated CO2 operated external wastegate. Turbosmart has taken the complexity of out of CO2 boost control by taking the “spill” and “fill” control solenoids as well as the dome pressure sensor required for CO2 boost control and integrating them directly into the wastegate cap.
Combine this integrated control cap with Turbosmart’s range of award winning StraightGate bodies and you have the world’s highest-flowing, user friendly external CO2 wastegates period! Turbosmart’s StraightGate wastegate design comprises a zero-offset inline butterfly-style valve that allows enormous flow and almost linear control across the operating range. This leads to unparalleled boost control for your high performance applications.
Compressed Gas variants of the StraightGate are designed specifically for wastegate control strategies that use an external pressure source such as CO2 or compressed air to vary the wastegate opening position. Longevity and performance are ensured by an inverted high pressure Nomex diaphragm built specifically for the higher pressure differentials found in CO2 / Compressed Air boost control strategies.
Integrating the electronic control components into the cap is the icing on the cake, simplifying the plumbing to a single regulated pressure line from the CO2 or Compressed Air source straight to the wastegate cap. This eliminates up to 8 pressure fittings and possible failure points from the critical boost control system.

Modular StraightGate
Based on Turbosmart’s award winning electronic StraightGate50 technology this new range of 50mm butterfly style Straight gates, take Turbosmarts proven butterfly valve extrenal wastegates and allow integration with selected OEM electronic wastegate control motors. The Modular Series of Straight Gate’s opens up a new world of boost control for engines that came fitted with electronic wastegate actuation.
The Modular StraightGate50 is a zero-offset butterfly style wastegate which allows enormous flow and almost linear control with unparalleled boost control throughout the entire operating range. Just like the factory intended, no reference hoses, no springs and no diaphragms, the Modular StraightGate50 utilises the existing full electronic control unit combined with Turbosmart’s flow leading 50mm StraightGate50 butterfly valve for maximum exhaust flow.
Electronic actuation results in the widest possible tuning window from zero boost (if manifold priority allows for it) to all available boost. Because the Modular StraightGate50 utilises the factory fitted electronic control motor control of the motor and wastegate can still be done through the existing electronic systems (reprogramming required).
The Turbosmart StraightGate50 has been designed from the ground up and validated in-house to create a new level of control and flow, never seen in any wastegate before it. The zero-offset butterfly valve is subjected to exhaust drive pressure equally on both halves of the valve which pivots centrally, resulting in a valve that is self-balanced against any drive pressure.
This self-balancing means less work is required to actuate against even the highest of drive pressures and a wider tuning window is possible, no matter how the valve is actuated. The increased flow is achieved through the efficiency of a straight through valve versus a traditional poppet style valve where the exhaust gas must be turned 90 degrees by the valve.

Charge Air Control – Made Easy
The Compressed Gas BoostGate76 takes Turbosmart’s award winning electronic BoostGate and simplifies the control system with a diaphragm style actuator built specifically for use with Compressed Gas / CO2 boost controllers. In addition to a custom high pressure Nomex diaphragm the Compressed Gas BoostGate76 has integrated “fill and spill” solenoids for seamless control integration.
Unlike a traditional external wastegates, which bypass exhaust gas around the turbine housing to reduce turbocharger shaft speed and effectively, boost levels – Charge Air Control is a controlled bleed of the compressed air on the cold side of the turbocharger system (ie boost). Mounted to the charge pipe, the Compressed Gas BoostGate76 can be used to modulate boost pressure directly, rather than the indirect method of traditional hot side boost control.
Charge Air Control is specifically suited to applications like drag racing where turbocharger specifications have already been optimized and the turbine housing is not a limiting performance factor (ie engine pressure ratio’s below 1). Turbosmart BoostGate’s use a zero offset butterfly-styled valve that enables incredible resolution, enormous flow and the kind of boost control required to deliver the perfect pass, every time.
