GenV UltraGate38 HP by Turbosmart

Turbosmart has expanded on the GenV external wastegate range by adding the traditional 2 Bolt, 38mm version to the High Pressure (HP) lineup. The GenV Ultra Gate 38 HP is a 38mm 2-bolt style wastegate and offers up 50psi of base spring pressure.

The GenV HP external wastegate lineup now includes the two-bolt UltraGate38HP, 40mm V-Band CompGate40HP and 45mm HyperGat45HP. Based on the award-winning GenV architecture, you can be assured of class-leading flow, thermal performance, and fatigue resistance & the HP variants provide up to 50psi of base mechanical spring pressure – even more with external boost control or reference signal manipulation.

This new unit is a direct fit replacement from the previous 38mm 2 Bolt Turbosmart and suitable two-bolt peer products and features our unique locking-collar system, variable actuator cap and base for easy, 360-degree optional routing of reference hoses, optional liquid-cooling provision and 1/8 NPT reference ports the GenV HP range is supplied with 35psi springs pre-fitted & with optional 50psi springs available.

Frequently Asked Questions

The unique actuator housing is slightly taller than a normal GenV gate, allowing for taller, high-pressure spring options. The normal GenV actuator housings have been made as small and low profile as they can be while still offering base pressure options up to 26psi – High than that, and you’ll want an HP version.

Yes! The part number TS-0550-3109 does just that, allowing you to upgrade either a CompGate40 or HyperGate45 to HP spec. The only limitation is we’re only making the HP

option in Black, so while it will physically fit on any colour, the top cap will have to be black if you’re after HP features.

You effectively have 5 options; 10psi, 25psi, 35psi, 40psi & 50psi with the use and combination of just 3 springs. And remember, this is just base mechanical spring pressure. Much higher levels of boost can be achieved with some boost control or reference manipulation.

How much have you got? All setups are different, and to answer this question, it’s best to acknowledge how much exhaust back pressure impacts boost control. On an efficient setup, you should achieve between 2 and 3 times the base mechanical spring pressure. However, if you’re really working a turbo, efficiency tends to drop off, and back-pressure rises, making things a lot harder. It really does come down to your combination.

Not necessarily. The Water cooling feature is there simply as an option. The GenV architecture provides class-leading thermal management, so it’s our experience most users will never need it. It’s there in case you’re one of the chosen few finding the limits, though.

Both the boost control reference ports and the (Optional) liquid cooling ports are 1/8NPT. We have a range of AN adapters and high temp push-lock fittings available in the Spares and Accessories Tab.

Yes! The modular design of the GenV Range of External Wastegates means you can rotate the actuator housing 360 degrees for virtually unlimited hose routing options.

Turbosmart IWG75 Internal Wastegate Actuators have an increased working surface area which provides class-leading boost control & we’ve adapted our existing, proven range to bolt directly onto the LTG Turbocharger. Like all Turbosmart Actuators, there are spring options available from 3psi up to 26psi. However, they are delivered with a 7psi spring which is a bolt-on solution that provides increased performance, while still working within the factory torque management strategies.

No! You just need to unbolt it & fit the Turbosmart Kompact EM Valve in its place. 2 or 3 bolts, plug in the connector and your done – No fiddly bits.

You won’t need a separate boost reference for the Kompact EM Valve at all – Bolt it on and plug it in. However, we have a range of boost reference adaptors available online if you want to run a boost gauge, though, check out www.turbosmart.com ​ as we have those as well.

None – The EM Kompact range is designed to work with a very light spring for a super-fast response. No amount of boost or engine vacuum should upset the boost-balance system fitted from the factory.

7 psi is your best bet: Part Number: TS-0612-1072. These will bolt on & work straight away with your factory ECU & tune. Even though they are the same rated pressure as the OE gear, you will still see an improvement in low-end response & overall performance. We can achieve a peak boost earlier & keep it high in the RPM.

Turbosmart gets up close and personal with the legendary Skyline GT-R

Before the R35 rose to global acclaim, the GT-R badge has been exciting Nissan & Datsun fans since the 1960s. After shelving the badge for over a decade, Nissan resurrected it & slapped it on what is affectionately now known as Godzilla. The E-BNR32, more commonly known as R32 GT-R, was born and adorned with the much-loved RB26, six-cylinder Twin Cam, Twin Turbo, which was used from 1989 through to 2002 when Nissan built the last R34 Skyline GT-R.

We are introducing the Turbosmart range of bolt-on modifications for the Nissan Skylines, R32, R33 and R34 GT-R, including bolt-on blow-off valves and upgraded internal wastegate actuators, for the factory twin-turbo setup.

The Turbosmart Kompact BOV solution bolts into the factory diverter valve plenum & is a dual-port valve designed for cars using the factory mass airflow sensor. The Smart port technology keeps your MAF happy while still venting externally & the billet, motorsport proved valve design ensures maximum response and performance for the car’s life!

Turbosmart RacePort 50mm bolt-on blow-off valve kit comes with everything you need to delete the factory BOV plenum & replace it with a single, simple 50mm Raceport valve for maximum performance. The RacePort valve is suitable for a solution well over 1500HP. It is super responsive due to its diaphragm actuated design – Turbosmart 50mm Raceport valves have proved to the world over in the heat of motorsport, so you can rest easy knowing your boost is in good hands.

Turbosmart IWG75 internal wastegate actuators have an increased working surface area which provides class-leading boost control & we’ve adapted our existing, proven range to bolt directly onto the factory GT-R twin turbos. These are bolt-on and available in both 7psi (0.5Bar) and 14psi (1.0Bar) & will provide improved response & performance, even on the factory tune. However, like all Turbosmart actuators, it can be set up with custom spring options from 3psi to 26psi if you need something special.

Unfortunately, No! These components are designed specifically for RB26DETT engines, fitted to the GT-R variants, and we cannot guarantee they’re likely to match any other variant of spec Skyline.

These will bolt on & work straight away with your factory ECU & tune. Even though they are the same rated pressure as the OE gear, you will still see an improvement in low-end response & overall performance. We can achieve a peak boost earlier & keep it high in the RPM. 7psi is your best bet: Part Number: TS-0615-6072.

No, you will need the factory plenum to bolt the Kompact set onto your vehicle – Designed as a factory upgrade. If you do not have the plenum, you may consider our RacePort solution – This sits in the factory position but deletes the plenum for a simple mounting solution.

Certainly louder than factory, yes – But you have options. The SmartPort solution means you won’t have any technical difficulties venting into the atmosphere. However, if BOV noise isn’t your thing, we’ve included blanking plus into the kit & you can convert these easily to recirc-only valves. This will mean the same improved performance but without the noise!

That will depend on your turbo upgrade & if you’re unsure, best check with your turbo supplier. If you have a hybrid upgrade based around the factory compressor cover, it is very likely these will fit & can be easily adapted.
